Howard and Zara
Your Physiotherapists
Howard McDonnell
Howard is a Chartered Physiotherapist and owner of Physiotherapy New Ross. He graduated from Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Eindhoven, The Netherlands. He has worked in the public hospital system but is now predominantly working in private practice. Howard is a strength and conditioning coach and has a keen interest in rehabilitation and injury prevention. Howard has worked with numerous athletes and sporting teams with regards Physiotherapy and or Strength and conditioning. They include underage inter-county GAA teams, athletes competing at International level, soccer teams, and his own club, the Rower-Inistioge senior hurling team in County Kilkenny.
Zara Murphy
Zara is a Chartered Physiotherapist and co-owner of Physiotherapy New Ross. She graduated from University of Bradford in 2010 and then went abroad to work in New Zealand and Australia gaining experience in the public health system.
Zara has completed extensive post-grad training in Care of the Elderly, Neurology and functional sports rehabilitation and certified in dry needling and is a Pilates instructor.
Zara has worked with numerous athletes and sporting teams, including international athletes and GAA teams.
Having also obtained a honours BSc in food science from UCC she has a keen interest in promoting health awareness as part of her holistic approach to rehabilitation.

Clinical Pilates combined with physiotherapy assessment and expertise to provide appropriate exercises for people recovering from injury or working around specific injuries or conditions. It is generally delivered one-to-one in small groups for men and women.
